I and my team of executives continued where our predecessorsstopped. Our major goals were to sustain the unity, stabilityand actualisation of the Union’s visions. Ours was a dedicated executive who, with benefit of hindsight, blended the past with the present to project the Union into the envisaged future direction. The Union enjoyed reforms necessary for the smooth realisation of its aims and objectives. This commitment triggered the completion of the amendment of our constitution, removing inconsistencies and bringing it to update to meet the requirements of modern Unionism. Our slogan was “Transparency” and our action was “Justice and Fair play” because we believed that these are the necessary tools needed to achieve the benefits of democratic Unionism. The cooperation and confidence we enjoyed from the Union membership gave us the impetus to pursue excellence for the benefit of not only our Union but also our neighbours in this multicultural society where we live. This inspiration motivated two of our Union members, Chief Ugochukwu Okolo and my humble self Nze Innocent Nwawulu to partake in the MEMO project and gained Certificate of Competence in modern Union Management from the ministry of Socials and Integration Baden-Württemberg in conjunction with “Forum der KulturenStuttgart”, a valuable asset for our Union. We are optimistic that the value the regime added to our Union will continue to crystallize the necessary ingredients essential for the attainment of our set objectives.
